CISA Award

We, the Theaterfreunde Augsburg e.V., the Sponsoring Association of the Augsburg State Theatre, proudly introduce our new theatre prize as the awarding body, which was awarded for the first time at the end of the 2022/23 season: the Golden CISA.

The Golden CISA is presented annually to artists (singers, dancers and actors) for special achievements at the Augsburg State Theatre in a festive setting at the end of the respective season as part of the theater festival. The respective prize-winners are selected by a jury.

In addition, the most popular production from the premieres / world premieres of the past season will be determined by the audience through online voting and this audience award will be presented to the director or choreographer concerned. The Online voting for 2026 is open from May, 15th 2026 to May, 27th for the 2025/2026 season on this website under the category ‘Voting 2026‘.

The CISA, a legendary figure from Augsburg, was commissioned by the Theaterfreunde Augsburg e.V. and designed as a prize by the Augsburg graphic designer Axel Schäffer and figuratively designed by a company specialising in prizes of honour.

For many years before that, the Theaterfreunde Augsburg e.V. had sponsored an award which was jointly presented by the Augsburg Journal and the Theaterfreunde Augsburg to artists of the Stadttheater Augsburg.

The Theaterfreunde Augsburg e.V. wish all award winners much joy in the Golden CISA, which they now receive as a visible sign of their extraordinary artistic achievements at the Augsburg State Theatre, and further toi,toi,toi for their future artistic careers.

The next award ceremony for the 2025/2026 theatre season will take place take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, 6 p.m. as part of the Theater Quarter Festival at the Leopold Mozart College of Music (Grottenau) and will again be accompanied by music, for which the Theaterfreunde Augsburg would like to thank the Augsburg State Theatre. Many theatre friends will be enthusiastically attending the theatre quarter festival and the award ceremony! Free entrance!
